3 DAY EARLY CHILDHOOD TRAINING

Join the HANDS in Autism® Team for an intensive training focused on innovative, interactive experiences and coaching for early childhood providers. Training days consist of a combination of independent and group learning opportunities enhanced by simulated and live practice of skills and strategies with children with ASD allowing for ongoing modeling, coaching, feedback and mentoring from HANDS trainers. With an emphasis on building increased knowledge and skill in the process of making appropriate programming decisions for each child, classroom, and/or intervention team, training topics build successively across each day using the HANDS in Autism® Model Training Curriculum, Framework and Process.

Training Cost: $750

Location: At the HANDS Center in Bloomington or Virtual

Individual trainings can be requested (held in person or virtually) by emailing hands@iu.edu.

A range of instructional methods are included to provide optimal learning and application, including:

Online modules
Traditional didactic instruction
Small and large group discussions
Observation of HANDS trainers interacting with a range of youth representing varying functional abilities

The training environment will provide exposure to a variety of associated behavioral, educational, and topic-specific examples through live observation, video samples, and scenario-based discussions and activities, as well as several opportunities for hands-on application.

Day 2: Behavioral Assessment and Skills Teaching
Day 3: Tasks & Adaptations, Behavior Intervention, and Social Skills

Early childhood service providers, service coordinators, preschool teachers, primary special educators, daycare employees, administrators, and other professionals working with children with developmental disabilities.

Yes, partial scholarships through HANDS in Autism are available to qualifying participants.

ACCESS THE LIST

Up to 27 contact hours will be awarded to those participants who attend and fully participate in assessments and training activities.

Refunds & Cancellations

All registrations are final, and no refunds will be issued. If you find that you are unable to attend a scheduled session, your registration fee may be applied to your attendance at a future session if available by emailing hands@iu.edu or calling 812-856-1600 at least 72 hours prior to the start of the event.
