Addressing service needs around the world
Around the world, autistic people are at increased risk for behavioral and psychiatric disorders (up to 70.8% have at least one co-existing diagnosis and 41% have two or more). This can place autistic individuals at increased risk for punitive or restrictive treatment and without adequate access to appropriate services or trained providers.
The evidence-based practices of our long-standing HANDS in Autism® model is easily translatable with flexible and adaptable formats. Our accessible content delivery, consultation, mentoring and coaching options can be adapted and demonstrated in culturally responsive ways around the world. As we undergo our first comprehensive trainings for providers who serve autistic people internationally, we are assessing the global landscape with the hope of finding new partners who are interested in increasing local capacity.
