Partnering to Support Early Intervention: HANDS in Autism Trainings & Learning Opportunities
HANDS in Autism® is proud to have partnered with First Steps to offer a special Topical Training focused on strengthening early intervention practices for young children and families.
On January 13, 2026, Dr. Tiffany Neal from HANDS participated in a Topical Training on Effectively Addressing Challenging Behavior in Early Intervention. This interactive session explored developmentally appropriate expectations, proactive strategies for de-escalating challenging moments, and ways to support families as partners in promoting positive outcomes.
It was led by:
- Dr. Tiffany Neal, Director, HANDS in Autism® Center, IIDC
- Lynne Hall, M.S.Ed., Research Associate, Early Childhood Center
- Janet Ballard, M.Ed., Research Associate, Early Childhood Center
Participants gained practical tools grounded in real-world examples to support emotional regulation, strengthen relationships, and enhance engagement during early intervention sessions.
