Kristan Sievers-Coffer serves as a Program Management Specialist at HANDS in Autism® with the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community at Indiana University Bloomington. With more than 25 years of experience in education and special education, she brings extensive expertise in program development, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and statewide coordination.
In her current role, Kristan supports autism training initiatives, coordinates webinars and statewide resources, and strengthens community partnerships to advance inclusive education and professional learning.
Kristan began her career as a middle school teacher in Illinois and Indiana, teaching science, social studies, and English. She also spent a year teaching English as a Foreign Language in Hungary.
She later served for 10 years with the Indiana Department of Education in the Office of Special Education, where she held senior project management and leadership roles focused on educator professional development, special education oversight, and accountability systems.
Kristan joined the HANDS in Autism® team in 2022 and continues to support collaborative initiatives that build educator capacity and improve outcomes for individuals with autism.
