Audrey Pitzer

TRANSITION SPECIALIST

Email:
audcwill@iu.edu
Department:
Indiana Institute On Disability on Community
Campus:
IU, IU Bloomington

Professional Overview

Audrey serves as a Training Specialist with HANDS in Autism® at the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community, Indiana University Bloomington. With over eight years of experience in special education, she plays a key role in planning and delivering intensive trainings, supporting schools in implementing the HANDS Model, and consulting with districts across Indiana.

She is especially passionate about connecting with and supporting special education professionals statewide, helping them build confidence and practical skills to better serve their students.

Experience & Background

Audrey’s journey into special education began within her own family, after her younger sister received an extremely rare diagnosis as a baby. Witnessing her sister’s growth and supporting her daily life shaped Audrey’s commitment to serving individuals with disabilities.

Her experiences include volunteering at Stepping Stones Summer Camp and supporting individuals with disabilities throughout her education. These formative experiences led her to pursue a degree in Special Education at Ball State University. Prior to joining the HANDS team, Audrey served as an instructor at Erskine Green Training Institute, further strengthening her expertise in training and skill development.
