Partners: Shelbyville East Community Schools; Clarksville Community Schools, Bremen Community Schools.
The dates/activities for the entire coalition project are as follows:
- January 22 (Exploration & Adoption)
1-day workgroup session (approx. 9am-3pm EST, lunch provided at HANDS Center)
The session will develop a coalition trajectory for goals (and data to monitor) and short-term steps and actions (who, what, where, how).
Activities will involve a review of resources, a review of tiered options and platforms available, and a chance to give input on the usability of a platform (i.e., LMS, website, etc.) for resource sharing and accessibility.
- February-March (Program Installation)
Monthly coalition meetings (approx. 60-90 min virtual meeting; determined based on those engaged for mutual fit with day/time).
Representation of diverse yet collective voices.
Portal development and feedback (i.e., online resource sharing, filters, materials tailored to or with evidence of support).
As the decision-making pathways are developed and resources/supports tailored to sites, input on other resources that may be available or of value will be requested but kept direct and brief (a quick update once/week via email for the coalition).
- April-May (Initial Implementation)
Monthly coalition meetings (approx. 45-60 min virtual meeting; determined based on those engaged for mutual fit with day/time).
This phase will focus on gathering and reviewing data and feedback from the field based on team members and staff engaging in the resources and process available in the portal.
Data review and dialogue about alternatives to suspension/expulsion, for example, will occur during this time to finesse the decision-making pathway and portal.
Focus on looking towards sustainability and replication.
Asynchronous and synchronous HANDS resource availability (e.g., panels, ECHO sessions, workshops) based on initial participation, program installation and person/role identification for the sites’ team members.
