Day 3 of the HANDS in Autism® Intensive Training at Wawasee Community Schools was filled with meaningful discussions and practical strategies focused on behavior. Participants dove deep into topics such as behavioral assessments, proactive strategies, and the importance of positive reinforcement. The enthusiasm was clear throughout the day, with many sharing how impactful the training has been so far.
One participant shared, “I love anything behavior!! I appreciate all the information.” Another noted, “Proactive ideas! All of them… so great!!!” The group especially valued the emphasis on practical tools they can apply immediately in their classrooms. As one participant put it, “I loved the proactive ideas! That was the best part of the training so far.”
The reminders about incorporating positive reinforcement resonated strongly as well, underscoring the importance of building supportive environments that encourage student growth and success.
The HANDS in Autism® team is grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with Wawasee Schools and surrounding districts in providing this multi-day intensive training. Together, we’re working to equip educators and staff with the knowledge and tools to better support individuals on the spectrum and with diverse needs.
